Cape Town guitarist Peter Narun obtained his Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Cape Town, graduating on the Dean’s Merit List and with Distinction in Classical Guitar. He went on to study for his Masters Degree in Performance at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, which he graduated Cum Laude after a series of public recitals at the Howard Theatre in Durban.

Peter launched his solo classical guitar album Origin in December 2010. The album was immediately selected as Fine Music Radio’s album of the week, and is still frequently played by the radio station.

Peter has performed guitar recitals at venues such as St Georges Cathedral and the Artscape Arena. He has also performed at the Baxter Theatre with the Cape Town Tango Ensemble as part of the Cape Town Concert Series, at Spier with Cape Town Opera and the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra for their production of Rossini’s Barber of Seville, and at Evita Se Peron with long-time violinist duo partner Kerryn Torrance.

Peter has performed at concerts, weddings, corporate functions and other events at some of Cape Town’s premier venues, including Vergelegen, Groote Schuur Estate, Cape Town International Convention Centre, Twelve Apostles Hotel, The Mount Nelson Hotel, Groot Constantia Estate, and the Cape Town Castle. His solo guitar repertoire includes guitar favourites such as Cavatina (the theme from The Deerhunter), Recuerdos de la Alhambra, Spanish Romance, and Classical Gas, as well as guitar arrangements of contemporary popular music, such as What a Wonderful World, Memory and Annie’s Song.
